I am happy to continue working with the wonderful students and staff at Rockwell. Let's all stay healthy by continuing healthy habits such as: washing hands often, eating fruits and veggies, getting outdoor activity for Vitamin D exposure and letting creative outdoor play abound! Keeping sick children home is important. Because children can spread disease easily, keep them isolated especially with fevers, GI symptoms (vomiting and diarrhea). 24 hours without fever or these symptoms is what the school system recommends for isolation following Center for Disease Organization guidelines. Parents of fifth graders: The Tdap vaccine is required prior to entry into middle school. Secure an appointment before the end of school and avoid the summer rush. This is a booster vaccine that helps protect against Tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough. Studies have shown that your child's pre-Kindergarten shot for this has worn off by now and so it is now mandatory. You will need to provide proof of this vaccine on the first day of middle school. If you or your neighbor have a child who will be in our kindergarten here at Rockwell next year, now is a good time to schedule the needed immunizations and physical required for all children entering school. If your child has turned four already, vaccines can be given. Summer appointments book up quickly. We have forms available if you need them.
