Parents,



I am sending home a summary of the story that we read in class. I will be sending these home each week. Please have your child read this summary to you each night (Mon.-Thurs.). This will help your child with his/her oral reading fluency. You will want to time him/her for 1 min. to see how many words he/she reads correctly in that min. Our goal in 3rd grade is to read 120 words correctly in 1 min. by the end of the year. Expect to see the summary of the story for the week on Mondays. The story is also in your child's reading book. It is important that your child reads this version on Thurs. nights before the test on Fri.
