Fun In The Sun

     We are using our Activboard to springboard us through our second grade curriculum.  We have an amazing time using our Activboard and Activotes in our classroom. You will find us using our board from the time we enter the room each day until we leave each afternoon.  

     WARNING:  If you visit you will probably find the noise level high when we take our comprehension tests using Activotes.  The cheers will be quite loud when a bar graph is displayed showing 100% of our class made the right answer choice for a particular question!    By connecting to the internet, using Houghton Mifflin's Eduplace, we play the eword game to reinforce our new vocabulary skills in a fun skateboarding game.  

     During math you could find us debating how many possible answers could be found, using our problem solving skills on a Week by Week Essentials math problem.  When we connect to Pearson's Success Net, students are introduced with a new math skill through a cartoon learning bridge most days.

     Do you know why penguins are able to swim in freezing temperatures?  We do and we found out first hand by comparing our own skin submerged in freezing icy waters and the effect when our skin was protected by a warm layer of fat or blubber.  Wow!  What a difference!  The water wasn't cold at all when protected with that extra layer!
