Hello Students, Parents, and others concerned. This is the first entry in our notes. It is also an invitation for all JROTC Cadets and Parents to continue utilization of this website, its notes, and other features. The site in formation will be updated on a weekly basis. Critical changes in formation will be changed on the day necessary to insure Cadets know what is happening. We received Academy status last year. With that we have developed a curriculum to support both a honors program and to prepare cadets for post secondary education. Both college prep and career concentrations have specific courses to follow as they per sue their leadership goals from grades 9-12. This Academy was developed  for students to strenghen skills necessary for both concentrations to them able to have the skills necessary to meet their goals after high school. Again, welcome, I am looking forward to communicating with you on a continual basis.

RAIDER CHALLENGE

 RAIDER CHALLENGE  (2ND PLACE IN 4TH BDE USACC (NC, SC, MA, VA, WV, RI, NJ)....COMPETE IN COMPETITIONS THAT INCLUDE: ARMY PT TEST, 5 K RUN, ROPE BRIDGE, LAND NAV, & FIRST AID EVENTS.

OUR RAIDERS PLACED 1ST IN NC & 2ND AT THE 4TH BRIGADE BI-STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN MAR 2011.  THE RAIDER CHALLENGE TEAM HAS WON THE BDE TITLE SEVEN TIMES SINCE 1996. This year and last years teams  placed second., and along with a third place finish in 2003 has had our team finish in the top three 10 out of 15 years of the championships existance.

DRILL TEAM

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE DRILL TEAM WHO COMPETED LAST APRIL AT EAST REGIONS PLACING 5TH OVERALL AND 2ND IN NC. THIS QUALIFIED THE TEAM FOR  A CHANCE IN COMPETING ON THE NATIONAL LEVEL. THE TEAM COMPETES IN 13 EVENTS COMPOSED OF DRILL AND CEREMONY. This years team finished seventh at the Army Championships and 3nd overall in exhibition at 4TH BDE championship. Our drill team has been in the top three of our BDE for last nine years in either Reg or ex, and or both..

OUR RIFLE TEAM PLACED 3RD IN THE 4TH BRIGADE RIFLE  CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 2007.  THE RIFLE TEAM SHOOTS A 1.77 CAL PERCISSION PELET  RIFLE. THE COMPETITION CONSIST OF A CERTIFIED NRA/ CMP 3 POSITION 30 SHOT MATCH.

FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS INSTRUCTORS HAVE PROVIDED A NON-JROTC OPPORTUNITY FOR VENTURING ACTIVITIES. THE AMERICAN LEGION POST FROM CHINA GROVE NC HAS SPONSERED A BOYSCOUT CREW 363 AND INSTRUCTORS AND PARENTS VOLUNTEER AS CREW LEADERS. aCTIVITIES FOR THE SY2011-12 ARE AS FOLLOWS:

All Cadets Participating in these events actions reflected great credit on the Cadet Battalion, the Community and themselves.  This reflects not only Cadet Commitment, but also that the community at large for our Cadets.

THE BATTALION:

Also the biggest event this past year warrants a CONGRATULATIONS to all Cadets as the Battalion retained its Honor Unit With Distinction on 18 NOV 11, (SCORING 99.5%). Truly a team accomplishment that reflects the type of Cadets

we have in the program.
