Welcome to my school notes web page! I am the speech therapist at Overton Elementary. I hope everyone is enjoying the year so far. We are hard at work in speech therapy working on vocabulary, concepts, directions, comprehension, fluency, and articulation.

If you child is working on articulation (speech sound production), please practice with them everyday. For example, if your child is working on /r/. Think of all the everyday words your child uses that contains /r/. Right, wrong, read, really, etc. This will reinforce what I help them with in therapy.

I have included flashcards on my website for /r, l, and s/. These are the most common sounds that are misarticulated. The flashcards are located at the top of this webpage. Click on flashcards and then you may click on show entire list to view all words at once.

If your child is working on language based activities, such as comprehension or vocabulary, make sure to ask your child questions and explain new words or words that are not in their everyday vocabulary.

Keep motivating your children to work hard on their speech and language and to have fun!
