Hello.  I'm Sabra Mills, School Psychologist.  I have been involved in Special Education my entire professional life.  I graduated from Appalachian State University in 1964 with a BS in Special Education.  I received my Master's Degree in Learning Disabilities in 1977 from Kansas State University.  My Specialist Degree in School Psychology was completed in 1983 from University of Idaho.  I have taught learning disabled, mentally disabled (mild and moderate), behaviorally emotionally disabled, autistic, tramatic brain injured, and students with ADHD from preschool through high school.  I have also taught third and fifth grade general education classes.  Prior to returning to RSS, I was head of the Special Education program in Teacher Education at Pfeiffer University.  I love special education.  It is always changing and there is always something new to learn.

I serve the following schools:  Isenberg Elementary, Koontz Elementary, Shive Elementary and Woodleaf Elementary.

If you need to contact me, my office phone number is 704-216-7357.  My email address is millssc@rss.k12.nc.us

THOUGHT for January:  Sometimes it takes a really beautiful day to wake us up to the wonders of the world around us.  A blossoming flower, a sunny sky- sometimes these are the only things our eyes look for and value as worthwhile.  But there is so much more to life, so much more to enjoy, if we can learn to see with our hearts as well as our eyes.  To be aware of each day, each experience, as a separate wonder of its own, to meet each challenge eagerly and grasp each moment with a sense of newness and discovery-this is what living is really all about.
