Welcome to the exciting world of Theatre!!!
Theatre I is an introduction to the wonderful world of acting. In Theatre I, you will recognize Theatre as an art form that encompasses all the arts and is representative of life at all levels. We will study about theatre history, pantomime, improvisation, voice and diction, roles and responsibilities of a production staff, acting, and much, much more! You will also write and perform short scenes and monologues and participate in theatre games. I hope you will find Theatre a fun and educational experience! Everyone should have a small notebook to be used as a journal. I will take these up periodically and grade them. You also need a 3 ring binder for your theatre notebook. THESE ARE TWO SEPARATE NOTEBOOKS! Students are concentrating on Ch.4 Acting. We will continue focusing on vocal projection and enunciation, voice characteristics, projection, body movement, and stage movement. Students will take the Acting Vocabulary Test. Make up monologues will be performed. We will review for the Ch.4 test to be given on 12-8-08 and 12-9-08. If time allows, we will read aloud and play theatre games. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me during school hours at 856-7121. I am excited about teaching your child, and I hope that he or she will have a positive Theatre learning experience! |
