News From Guidance www.sat.org - Applying for the SAT www.act.org - Applying for the ACT www.schoolnotes.com/28023/myguidance.html - Main Guidance Website At this point, we are well into the spring semester! Schedule changes have been completed and everyone should be "settled into" their new classes. Our goal is student success, and we are hopeful that students will put forth the effort to complete all assignments to the very best of their ability. When this is done, they will achieve success in the classroom. Our teachers will give their best efforts at the very same time, and with that combination, every student will come out a winner. Very soon, we will begin registering for classes for next year. Announcements will be made in homeroom and in classes about the registration schedule. Parents, we encourage you to help your child to make wise choices about the classes they sign up for as well as the level of the classes they choose. Please keep in mind your child's ability level, his or her work habits (willingness to do extra reading and/or writing assignments, for example), and other characteristics as you make those decisions. Please conference with teachers for advice and recommendations about appropriate classes. Counselors will also assist you and your child through the process. Our mission, again, is student success. As the semester progresses, we will be happy to work with you, your child, and your child's teachers to accomplish the goal. Please make us aware when you need assistance by calling the guidance office at 704-857-1161 to set up a conference. Best wishes for a wonderful semester! |
