WELCOME to my Schoolnotes website!

Happy SPRING!  It is hard to believe that there are only six weeks of school left. With SPRING comes "spring fever", and many students need reminders about the importance of doing homework neatly and completely, listening carefully and following directions in class, coming to school prepared for learning with all necessary school supplies, and having a postive school attitude to finish off the school year. Let's work together to help your child achieve these goals:)

Congratulations to those 8 students who are YBES third grade PATRIOTS:  Trey Book, Patrick Harmon, Matthew Lusardi, Makenzie Beard, Sophia Faulkner, Haley Lofland, Danielle Romberger, and Allison Wissler. I am so proud of you!

Congratulations to those 12 students who completed the Pizza Hut Book-It reading program  by doing their reading homework and remembering to bring in their reading logs from October through March: Makenzie Beard, Sophia Faulkner, Brianne Hancock, Madison Hardiman, Haley Lofland, Danielle Romberger, Allison Wissler, Jackie Wroe, Trey Book, Patrick Harmon, Evan Harris, and Ryan Massarelli. I am so proud of you!

* Reading - We are currently in our last theme in the grade three anthology. The reading strategies we will be practicing in this unit are: creating mental images, identifying the main idea and details, and rereading as a comprehension strategy.

* Science- We are currently working on our Plants unit. We will be testing on or about May 15th.  The final science unit is Energy in Motion.

* Writing - We will be completing a school-wide writing prompt this week.  Then we will begin a unit on persuasive writing.

*Handwriting - We have learned all the lower case cursive letters, and are almost finished learning all the upper case letters.  Students are encouraged to practice their cursive as much as possible.

*Book Reports - The May book report project has been sent home.  It is the LAST book report!!  This report is a "free choice" activity.

*Spelling - Students continue to have a spelling lesson to study each week, with a test on Fridays.  A new list of homework activities has been sent home.

Please remember to sign your child's homework pad each night after all homework has been completed. THANKS:)
