Reading: Our reading test will be changing.  I sent home a sample of what we will be doing.  We did that one together.  Hopefully you have gone over it with your child.  This will help prepare them for the new testing. The following is a list of words they will find on the tests.

Math:     We will introduce the following concepts:

•    Ten Subtraction Family
•    Five minute increments of time
•    Subtracting with coins

      Keep memorizing math facts through subtraction family 9.  Counting on fingers is slowing them down.  They need to know the addition/subtraction facts to multiply and divide when they get to 2nd and 3rd grades.  The test this week will include adding through Family 10/subtracting through Family 9.

Social Studies:

We will study about Black History Month this week.

Science:

We will continue to study 'matter' this week.
