Dear Parents,

Well, Spring is just around the corner and a very busy month for us! We start off our month with Reading Across America by celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. We'll get to read his books that we have not read before.

We got to Horizons this March 2 to see the Planetarium show and learn about Rocks and Soils. This will set the pace for our 2 week study on Rocks and Soils and then we will move on into our study about Plants. We will also learn about Tornadoes. We will have a drill to practice what to do if one ever is close to Overton. This will go along with Severe Weather Week and our overall theme of "Earth Matters".

We are continuing to learn about place value with numbers to 100. Please reinforce the concept at home to make sure your child understands tens and ones and where they are in numbers.Ex. 43 is 4 tens and 3 ones.We add and subtract these numbers! Practice counting coins! We'll be working more with money this month and learning about standard and nonstandard units of measurement. (inches and feet)

Some of the children have lost their markers or they are running out of ink. Please ask your child if they need some. Our writing assessment is March 4, so please have your child to school well rested and ready to write!

Book Fair will be here starting March 15th!

Thank you for your continued support of your child and to us! We appreciate your involvement in making this a successful year for your child.
