Pirates are invading room 207! We will spend about three weeks discovering the pirates of NC.  Students will create a podcast  - A Day in the Life of a Pirate.  Students will use GPS to locate the pirate treasure, make a jolly roger, research and present a variety of pirate information, and hopefully enjoy learning and using pirate vocabulary.  This is a great unit and should be lots of fun.

Reading comprehension will be the focus for small groups as we read stories from our basal and short novels in literature circles.  This will put a lot of responsibility on students and will challenge them to put themselves into their reading.

We will continue to blog and are looking forward to hooking up with a 4th grade class from Isenburg.  We are excited about this new adventure.
