  Here's a look at our week!

  Math:   We continue to work with subtraction, "taking away" with x's and writing subtraction sentences with - and =..  We'll be subtracting pennies, as well as solving picture problems where we have to decide whether to add or subtract.  Please continue to spend a little time each day helping your child to count from 0-100, as well as to count by 5's and 10's to 100 and by 2's to 100.  Thank you! 

  Religion:  Our focus will be on forgiveness

   Reading:   

    Letter Sound - y/y/ and z/z/.   Previous sounds - j/j/, qu/kw/, x/ks/, v/v/, g/g/, w/w/, u/u/, k/ k/, ck/k/,  l/l/, e/e/, b/b/, a/a/, c/k/, m/m/, n/n/, p/p/,  s/s/, t/t/, i/i/, o/o/, f/f/, h/h/, d/d/, r/r/.

    Phonemic Awareness -  phoneme deletion and substitution; segmenting and then blending sounds into words; breaking words into individual sounds; listening for beginning, middle, and ending sounds; generating rhyming words.

    Comprehension  Skills -  identifying story elements:  setting, characters, events (beginning, middle, end), problem and solution, main idea or theme. 
   

    Computers - Keyboarding skills:  home keys and top letter row. We continue to work with the bottom row of letters (m, v, c, n, b, and ,).

 

    Science - We'll focus on dinosaurs.


 Reminders -and there's a lot of them!

  1. Tuesday is Field Day!  Check the note sent home on Thursday for your child's color.
  2. Wednesday is our graduation "dress rehearsal" with Mrs. Barrett. (Can you believe it!?!)
  3. Rest time towels and change of clothing coming home on Thursday.
  4. End-of-Year envelope coming home on Friday.
  5. Friday is "Fun in the Sun," even if it rains!
  6. Monday is GRADUATION DAY! More information coming home soon.
