I am missing the returned slips from about half of my class. Please return on Monday. Thanks to ALL who helped students with Science Projects. It went VERY well, and all judges were HIGHLY impressed with the knowledge & poise of our students! :) Thanks, too, to all who were able to attend last evening's Drama Club presentation. Although technical difficulties abounded, the students did well. Next week 5 students in my class will say prayers over the p.a. system. Please listen to your child read his/her piece the evening before, if it is possible. Thanks! As you may or may not have heard, we will have our Halloween costume parade INDOORS, in the auditorium of SMS, on Tuesday, Nov. 1. We WILL still be going to Mass for All Saint's Day, so here's what I think we should do: We have been given permission by Fr. Tim to wear costumes, but I think we should tone down make-up, etc. for Mass. We'll leave hats/masks, etc. in the classroom, and put them back on AFTER Mass, and before the parade in the auditorium. It seems only fitting and respectful, as we will not only be at the front of the auditorium but ON the altar singing, that the fancy costume pieces be left off during Mass. Trust me, I'm sorry the weather didn't cooperate for today's celebration more than anyone --- another day before my Top Secret costume can be revealed!! --- but I feel it more important that we keep the holy day of obligation as sacred as possible. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 Reminders: Halloween is on Monday. Students are allowed to wear costumes to school, as we will walk around the neighborhood in a parade. Parents are invited to the parade, followed by a viewing of all groups in the auditorium. Please do send your child in an appropriate costume he/she will be comfortable in all day. Grade 5 will be presenting All Saint's Day Mass at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Several have volunteered to read, and ALL will be involved in a solemn and lovely Communion Meditation during Mass.
