Student of the Week Program

Approximately every four weeks a student from our class will be chosen to be our Student of the Week.  In order to be considered for this honor we will be looking for students that do their best in the following areas: academics, citizenship, and someone that shows good character towards their peers and the staff at Cayuga. 

 I am sure everyone in the class is working hard toward this wonderful goal!

 "M.V.P. Program"

Our Most Valuable Person Program A.K.A the M.V.P. program is a wonderful way for the students to really get to know each other.  During our M.V.P. program each child will have the opportunity to be the class "M.V.P." for a week.  

It is a great honor.  This is a wonderful chance for students to share with the class personal information about themselves, which helps to remind us all that everyone is special in their own way.

On Friday the “M.V.P.” for the following week is selected at random and that student  will be sent home with a congratulatory letter along with a special poster to fill out and decorate.  “M.V.P.” presentations will take place on Monday and students are encouraged to bring in photos and special treasures to share. 

Check in with your child on Monday evening to find out just how special their classmates are!

Current Events: Our Program is FANTASTIC!!!!!

Discussing events that are currently happening in our world helps to make 5th graders sharp. As we navigate around the news the students will be made aware of the events in our local area, the nation, the world, and they will have the opportunity to dig a little deeper into history.  

This is an ongoing project where the students are assigned specific days in which they will present current events to the class. Check in with your child for more details the program.  

At thebottom of our web page is a web site to help them with the "Historical Happening" section for their assigned current events day.  By now everyone in the class knows what is expected.
