CURRICULUM NEWS

                 Reading Block:
This week in reading students will practice EOG skills using a reading selection called: A Living Room Adventure. We continue to use the UNRAVEL strategy to help them select correct choices.
Students will also work in Guided centers this week. They will work on a readers theater with me and use the strategy summarize.
Students will use C. Rylant books to read and answer Higher Order Thinking skills. In their writing center students will write about an adventure and the kinds of things you find while exploring the wreckage. We will practice spelling words (week #21) also.

Writing:

Students will begin to practice cursive writing.  We will continue with the letters E, F, G, and H

PARENT/GUARDIAN CORNER

Please remember to check your students agenda each night and sign it.  This is where I will let you know how their day has been and what strip they ended the day on.  I may write you a note and this is a great place for you to write me or paperclip a note for me. I check agendas daily.
We are also low on these classroom essentials.  If you can help us out, please send after the holidays:

Kleenex      germ-x        notebook paper

pencils    erasers       crayons    glue sticks

clorox wipes

Please check my website weekly.  I will post homework, spelling words, curriculum we will study, and field trip information.  This is also a way you can contact me.  I will e-mail you back after school hours.
