April 12: 3rd Quarter Report Cards April 25-29 SPRING BREAK!!!!! EOG TESTING: May 16-19 EOG SCHOOL DANCE: May 20 PARENT/GUARDIAN CORNER Please remember to check your students agenda each night and sign it. This is where I will let you know how their day has been and what strip they ended the day on. I may write you a note and this is a great place for you to write me or paperclip a note for me. I check agendas daily. CITIZEN OF THE MONTH for APRIL Congratulations!!!!! MATH UPDATE: Students will begin a unit on Decimals. They will work on reading decimals, turning a decimal into a fraction, ordering decimals, and comparing decimals. They will work on EOG type questions and use the strategy UNRAVVEL for math. READING/LANGUAGE ARTS: We have started a unit called Word Detectives. Students are practicing prefixes and suffixes and root words. We are preparing for EOG's and students will use the strategy UNRAAVEL to practice comprhension questions. WRITING: Students will work on writing skills in their center this week. They will use newspaper articles to identify new words and their meanings. Students will also practice descriptive writing by describing a teacher, friend, or a pet.
