REPORT CARDS GO HOME FRIDAY, 11/13/2009.

Field trip to Ruth Eckerd Hall to hear the Florida Orchestra Thursday, 11/12/09

--I have received all permission slips for this field trip

--The field trip will last from 9:45-11:15 a.m.

--We will be riding a bus to this event

--Please dress "appropriately" for this event (i.e., no t-shirts or jeans please--students will have P.E. before we attend Ruth Eckerd Hall so we am not expecting students to "dress-up" or to wear dress shoes, but shirts with a collar, for the boys, and no jean shorts or jean pants, for all, would be appreciated).

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR THE CLASSROOM:  THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of those who have donated supplies to the classroom this week--I am so Blessed to have such supportive parent(s) / guardian(s) this year--Your kindness and generosity is truly appreciated.

• Clorox wipes--I clean each desk with these wipes at the end of each day.  If everyone donates just one container of these wipes, we should be set for quite a while--I have purchased them up to this point, but this getting expensive for me, so if you are able to donate this item, I would greatly appreciate it.
• Small coffee cans with lids and clear 2-liter bottles with lids (for science experiments)
• Small and pint sized Ziploc baggies 

Student Led Conferences:  For the first time, I am going give students the opportunity to conduct conferences with their parents.  I will be working with each student practicing how to conduct the conference with their parent(s)/guardian(s).  Research indicates that when students conduct their own conferences, students experience a higher degree of taking ownership in their own learning.  Student-led conferences will be conducted on Wednesday, 11/11/09 from 7:30-8:15 a.m. OR 6:30-7:30 p.m.  More information regarding this event came home this week--please select your preferred time for the conference with your child asap so that I can better prepare for the day. 

In preparation for our Student-Led Conferences on Wednesday, 11/11/2009, there will be no reading reflections due again this week.
