What is Happening in Our Class? 
Term 4 Week of March 2nd
  • This week we said "Goodbye" to one of our own class family!  Sarah has moved back to California in "America" (as she called it often).  We have heard that her and her family have arrived safely and we are awaiting news of their new address so we can start writing letters like "Mr. Polar Bear."
  • RE: We will be learning about forgiveness and the sacrament of reconciliation in RE this week.  We'll be having a double session that opens up next week for a double dose of science! 
  • Math:  Thank you for the parents who visited Thursday night for our Parent's Math Night.  It was fun to share what we are learning and look through some of the work we have done in class.

We are going back in time to explore our past and consider our future!
  • RE:  We will be learning about Lent.  Over the next 40 days we will talk about forgiveness, reconciliation and think about how this solemn season leads up to Holy Week and Easter.
  • ICT:  We are exploring how to use search engines and creating beautiful music with Music Maker!
  • Science:  Science might get a little 'weird' as we learning about Famous scientists and their wild inventions.  We will also create an experiment of our own!
  • History:  Traveling back to our past and learning the life of the people who lived here before, Mrs. Kenny will bring the history of Britain alive!
  • PE:  We will be enjoying movement of many kinds through gym.
  • Music:  What is the Score?  Can you guess and create simple compositions as we explore instruments and symbols!



_________________From Our Parish Mission _____________________________
Each night this week is our parish mission.  We will be linking our lessons in RE.
Monday night I learned a 'new' way to pray.  A.C.T.S
A = adore Christ.  Take time to think about how wonderful Christ is and the miracle of his life and gifts given through his death.
C = confess our sins and be sincerely sorry.  This is about how your 'sorry' changes when you have hurt someone you truly love and adore.  When we confess our sins to Christ, we should hold him in our hearts with love - helping us connect with this 'love' sorry.
T = Thankful.  Give thanks for all the wonderful and not so wonderful 'gifts' Jesus has given you.  Why our not so wonderful 'gifts'?  Because those are moments that help us gain understanding, grace and faith in God.
S = aSk.  Ask Christ for what you need - so that your prayers are combined with his prayers for us. :)
