to
Mrs. Trexler's Kindergarten Class
If you want to reach me during the day to leave a message on my voice mail just call the school then press 6 and then my room number which is 114. I usually don't check my voice mail until 2:15. If you need to get a message to me before this time, you'll need to go through the office.Please feel free to call me at school anytime.
We eat Lunch at 11:25, please feel free to come eat with us any time.


Parents - Remember to keep a set of extra clothes in a ziplock bag with your child's name on it for accidents that might happen this year. Change them out according to the season.
Reading - To start the year off we learn all of our primary color words.  Your child should now be able to recognize these words as well as use them in their writing.  We have went over the letters A,E,I,O,U,S,M, R and T.  We have learned these letters sounds and animals that begin with these letters.  Next we will learn the letter C.  
 
Math - We started learning positional words, such as behind, in front of, beside, top, middle and bottom.  Now we have moved on to patterns.  We have learned an AB pattern and an AAB pattern.  Next we will be moving on to knowing our numbers 1-10.  Students should now be able to write their numbers 0-5.

Science - We will be learning about Tigers.

Social Studies - We are learning about the First Thanksgiving with many fun activities.

Computer - We have done an impact unit about the book If You Give A Mouse A Cookie.
We have had a great deal of fun with this author and have read several of her books.

Important Dates

Our Thanksgiving Feast is on Monday. 11-23-09 at 10:00.  A paper is being sent home asking each person to send in an item.  Our class is responsible for nuts, grapes, popcorn and enough juice boxes for our class.


Pictures with Santa are on Wednesday 11-18-09.  This is a prepay picture option.

One item that we are currently out of is band-aids.  We like to have the pretty kind.  They seem to work better, but we are running low on all kinds.  If you would like to donate some to the class it would appreciated.
