We are reading a a great novel written by Jerry Spinelli.  The title of the book is Who Put That Hair In My Toothbrush. We are learning about the elements of a plot, characterization, conflict and questions stems.  We are getting ready to embark on the writing process to prepare for the 7th grade writing test. 

Your child will be bringing home a reading log starting the week of Sept 21.  They will be required to read for 30 minutes a night.  This reading should be enjoyable and not related to homework.  Please allow them to read ANYTHING that is of interest to them.  A parent will have to sign this log daily. 

In Science, yes I said science.  Mrs. DeBord and I have decided to switch subjects!!!  I LOVE SCIENCE.  We are going to be learning about heat and the energy it contains. 

Field Trip money is due by Oct 2.
