IMPORTANT UPCOMING ITEMS
I will be meeting the 6th grade AG students soon and doing a learning styles inventory with the students.
I will soon be sending out invitations to AG information sessions. I will post the information on the school website and send home an invitation with your child.
THE WINDOW IS NOW OPEN IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO NOMINATE YOUR CHILD TO BE LOOKED AT FOR AG TESTING IN THE FALL. This also applies to students who are identified in one area but would like to be tested for a second area. I will be accepting nominations until the end of August.
The results of AG testing in the fall will be distributed to parents and students around December.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Wake County Public School System's Academically Gifted Program seeks to inspire the love of learning, foster high achievement capabilities and the individual interest of gifted learners, and effectively nurture highly able learners from all populations.
In middle school the students identified as Academically Gifted Language Arts and Math are served mainly through their classroom teacher. The teachers are trained in differentiation and high level questioning to provide enrichment for your student.
Ms. Fountain, the AG coordinator, provides staff development, unit planning, and project enrichment to aid teachers in serving the AG students.
The AG Coordinator at West Lake Middle School is
