Challenger Middle School Eighth Grade - Mustangs Team Social Studies - Mr. Fauquher There will be many activities in my class to help each and every student to becoming self motivated learners. The first nine weeks will be focused on events leading up to The American Revolution and organizing learning habits that will encourage acquiring new and better learning skills. Grading for the first nine weeks will be broken into four grading categories each worth 25% of their total grade. Daily classroom assignments: This category will include recording periodic grades of assigned work. It will also include grades on prepareness for class, including all supplies. There will also be grades in this category on the grading of completion of the school planner which will be provided to each student on their first day of school. Notebook: Each student will keep all asigned work in a spiral notebook to be graded at the end of each chapter or unit. Tests: Each student will be periodically tested to assess each student's acquistion of the subject matter. Quarter project: Each student will be responsible to produce a three to five page research paper on an historical person or event relating to the time frame that we will be studying for the current quarter. A list of psssible subjects will be issued when shool starts. The first nine weeks project time frame is 1400 AD to 1700 AD. |
