Welcome to Mrs. Daye's AIG Page
Dear Parents and Students, I am completely amazed that almost an entire quarter has passed. The students have learned so much in this first quarter. I am very proud of the great quality work I am seeing from the students. They have been incredibly busy with thinking skills, Habits of Mind, Model Drawing, Morning Math and multiplication and division. Our reading class is almost finished with their first novel and Writer's Workshop is producing some amazing writing. I am so proud of them for keeping up with their assignments, doing quality work and putting forth their best efforts. It shows in their grades and in our overall class atmosphere. Much of that great work ethic comes from home, so thank you, parents, for making my job the greatest one in Rowan County. Please continue to check the project page for updates to long range projects and to ask your child what he or she learned in class today. Students should be able to describe meaningful learning experiences each day. Have a great week, Robin Daye

Third Graders are working on concrete and shape poems as part of their IMPACT project on plants. We have created shape poems in color, concrete poems in the computer lab, and explored The Giving Tree to show how seeds of friendship blossom just like plants. Ask your children what Mrs. Daye is doing in their classrooms in third grade.

Parents, my door is always open for you to visit our class, volunteer or have a conference. Please call the school at 704-639-3046, ext. 305 or email me using the link at the top of the page to schedule a time to come and visit or have a conference. If you have a special talent or a job you would like to share with the class, we would welcome those opportunities throughout the year. Of course, we are always open to donations of classroom supplies, books, or items for the treasure box. Thank you for all you do on a daily basis to make your child's education a success.
