Welcome to Mrs. Daye's AIG Page

Dear Parents and Students,

I hope each of you had a great Thanksgiving break and are ready to celebrate the upcoming holiday season with energy and excitement.  The holidays are such a busy time for all of us that it is even more important to keep on track with assignments, projects and deadlines.  Please continue to check your child's agenda nightly for assignments and due dates.  I do try very hard not to overload the children with outside assignments during the holidays, but we still have a great deal to accomplish in the month of December.   Outside assignments and project work is an area that we could greatly improve as a class.  I am still having too many important items turned in late, which negatively affects the students' grades.  Together, we need to encourage students to always do their very best and reach their fullest potential.

Please call or email if you have questions or concerns during the holidays.  Remember, progress reports go out this week.  Ask your child how they think they are doing in AIG!

Second graders are involved in whole class thinking skills using a program called Primary Education Thinking Skills.  The P.E.T.S. program introduces children to several types of thinking skills while they enjoy characters such as Dudley the Detective, Isabel the Inventor, Sybil the Scientist, Yolanda the Yarnspinner, Max the Magician and Jordan the Judge.  Ask your child what they learned in thinking skills class today.

Important Dates to Remember

Progress Reports:  Wednesday, December 3

Parents, my door is always open for you to visit our class, volunteer or have a conference. Please call the school at 704-639-3046, ext. 810 or email me using the link at the top of the page to schedule a time to come and visit or have a conference. If you have a special talent or a job you would like to share with the class, we would welcome those opportunities throughout the year. Of course, we are always open to donations of classroom supplies, books, or items for the treasure box. Thank you for all you do on a daily basis to make your child's education a success. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions, concerns or suggestions to make this year the best one your child can have.
