Welcome to Mrs. Daye's AIG Page

Dear Students and Parents,

We made the Salisbury Post!!  Way to go AIG Reading students.  Our article on the Mystery Museum was in the Thursday, March 18 edition of The Salisbury Post.  I am so proud of all of your accomplishments and now the entire community can share in your success.

The fun just keeps coming.  On Friday, 5th Grade math celebrates Pi Day.  We are going to examine the relationship of the diameter of a circle to its circumference and then participate in centers to cement this concept in our math "tool box."  I am so excited.  On Monday, we will continue with our Math Think-A-Thon and then submit it for scoring.  Good Luck teams!

Friday is also an exciting day for the 4th graders as they kick off their book club selection, The Boxcar Children with a trip to the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer.  I can't wait to hear all of their exciting stories when they return.

Finally, our next couple of weeks will be spent on all things Geometry.  In both 4th and 5th grades we will explore the relationships of the shapes that construct the world around us.  Reading students will begin their "Cereal Box Book Reviews,"  and prepare for the Reading Think-a-Thon.  Stay tuned for more details on that project.

Finally, please check the bottom of the page for some additional opportunities for your children.  One is a Saturday workshop at West Middle and the other is an AIG Logo contest with a great Flip Video camera as the grand prize.  Details are in the flyers in the "scoop" section below.

Have a great week,

Robin Daye
