These are the areas of study: Foods and Nutrition, Clothing and Sewing Basics, Child Care and Development, Architectual and Interior Design, and Building a Positive Self Image. All students participate by completing cooking labs, using sewing machines, using action baby dolls, working with interior fabric and wallcovering samples to create design boards, doing internet research, cutting, pasting and writing assignments. Our classroom is an active cooperative sharing atmosphere. Students work individually and with assigned small groups throughout the semester. Supplies needed are: paper, pens and pencils DAILY. Hand sewing needle, thread and a box of straight pins for the sewing unit. Food items for the "Free Lab" during foods unit. Poster board for the Interior Design project. Student will be making projects using scissors, glue, tape, colored pencils, markers and crayons. Students may bring their own if they do not wish to share the classroom set of materials. |
