KINDERGARTEN NEWS  **IMPORTANT INFORMATION** **SPIRIT DAY** On Friday, May 18th, the students will be participating in Spirit Day at Ridge Park. They are to wear MAROON shirts and gym shoes. Please dress according to the weather, and the students may bring a water bottle with them. If they did not order Subway, the students are to bring a lunch in a brown bag to school. Thank you and if you have any questions, please email me! **GRADUATION** I know it seems early, but the students will be graduating on TUESDAY, MAY 29th at 10:00am in the Church. The students are to come to school that day at the regular time (8:15am) dressed in their Sunday best! We will then walk the students over to the Church at 10:00 for the graduation. After the ceremony, there will be a small reception in the Parish Center for all of the graduates and their families. After the graduation, the students are NOT TO RETURN to school. This is their LAST DAY of school, and are to dismiss to their parents. I will be sending a note closer to the graduation date! If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me! **GUEST READERS NEEDED** We have a new sign up sheet for guest readers starting next Monday! Please stop by to sign up or email me and I can sign you up! THIS WEEK... This week the students learned about the letter Zz. We discussed different words that begin with the letter Zz, and worked on writing words that begin with the letter Zz. Now the students are working on blending words that have the vowels o, a, i, e, and u in them. We also practiced our printing of letters properly. The students are doing a great job! Please continued letter printing practice at home! We will be begin the letter Zz next week. We will also continue working on blending words together using the vowels Oo, Aa, Ii, Ee, and Uu. Each week the students learn one or two new sight words through the use of short stories. A list of all these words is located on one of my web pages if you wish to make flash cards with them for home. This week we worked on the sight word(s) would. The children learned to recognize and spell these words while making a small book to help them. Please continue to review these words with your student at home. Next week's word(s) are: review of all sight words. In math, the students continued learning about subtraction and have done a great job! The students will review skip counting by twos, fives, and tens next week. Please practice counting and printing of numbers at home for review! In religion we continued practicing our prayers as well as discussing Jesus' love for us! Please continue to practice the "Sign of the Cross", "Hail Mary" and "Our Father" prayers at home.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO TURN IN YOUR LIBRARY BOOK ON THURSDAY! Please continue to practice properly writing your child's name at home. Your student could also practice writing their sight words for review! Please make sure to check your child's take home folder every night for papers or projects they have done that day, and if you have any notes or papers for me or the office, they may be returned in that folder.
