HAPPY NEW YEAR AND WELCOME BACK

I hope everyone had a very restful holiday and are ready to get back to the swing of learning.

The next few months will be busy.

First World's Finest Chocolate will be delieverd in January. We will allow student to sell as much as possible. Our fundraiser keeps our band and music students from having to pay for buses, treats, and all the other expenses needed. Students will be coming home with a permission slip that must be signed and returned before any student is allowed to take candy home. So please be looking for this.

Band students will be working on good tones, flexiblility exercises in the up coming weeks. I will also be selecting the third piece for music for our festival band. Students who play flute, clarinet, alto sax and trumpet will be selected according to their knowledge and performance of these three selections. I must do this since there are so many students who play these instruments.  This will allow students in grades, 6 7 and 8 to try. Please encourage your child to practice his/her music. Students who have been a member of the festival band in the past will a test that it is very rewarding being a part of this group. I will be letting the students know more information as I get it.

Fifth grade students will continue learning new notes and will be working towards their first performance in May. The date for the concert has not be set as of this time but as soon as arrangements are made I will be letting you know.

3rd and 4th grade students will resume full schedule next week.  So fourth graders be sure to have your recorders for class.

Yearbook sales are still going on so if you haven't purchased your book, don't forget to do so. Books can also be purchased on line at www.jostens.com. The book is very colorful and looking really nice so don't miss out.
