Things needed for Biology:  Three ring binder, filler paper, pens, pencils and $10.00 lab fee.  The lab fee will be collected through the first month of classes. 

Parents:  You will receive several papers from me the first day of classes to look over and sign.  PLEASE read through these.  You are extremely important in ensuring that your student is proficient in this class.

**REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST SCORE AN 80 (3) ON THE EOC TO GET CREDIT FOR THE CLASS.  THIS IS AN EXIT STANDARD AND YOU HAVE TO PASS IT TO GRADUATE!!!

2/8/10 - Introduction to chemistry - atoms, elements, Covalent and Ionic bonding.  Homework:  Read chapter 6.

2/9/10 - Review from yesterday - Introduction to carbon based compounds and macromolecules important to living systems.  Fill out macromolecules chart - Types, Functions, Structures and base units.  Worksheet in class, finish for homework, Also study for chapter 6 quiz.  Remember to where closed toe shoes for lab tomorrow.

2/10/10 - Chapter 6 quiz on notes and macromolecules chart.  Food lab - testing for macromolecules in specific solutions.  Homework - Draw out and label lock and key model of enzyme action.

2/11/10 - Enzymes - importance to living systems.  Review for chapter 6 test.

2/12/10 - Chapter 6 test - after the test work on chapter 7 vocabulary - if you do not finish vocabulary it will be homework!
