Welcome to Mrs. Fellgren's class website.

In Reading we are learning about all the sound spellings for the long vowels. We always talk about rhyming words and word families. We also talk about beginning, middle, and ending sounds of words. When we read we talk about the main idea of the story. We are also learning about plural nouns and how to spell those that end with y. Reading aloud for about 10 minutes every night is a great way to improve all reading skills.

I have a link at the bottom of this page for the SRA Imagine It website. Each child has a log in and password for this site. This site gives your child access to lots of activities related to our Reading series. They can listen to the currrent decodable book. They can review the sound spelling cards. There are games that reinforce phonics skills. We have done this several times in class so they can probably show you how to do it. I gave each child his or her log in and password last week. If they need another copy tell them to let me know.

In Math we are adding and subtracting numbers to 12. We are also practicing/reviewing counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's.
