YCI-CYC Newsletter: November 2009
Hello Everyone! : ) We wouldlike to first of all apologize for the delay on this month'snewsletter...We know that we usually have it out closer to thebeginning of the month, but we've been a little busy the past fewweeks. <: ) We hope that this didn't inconvenience anyone, and if itdid, we're terribly sorry!!!

Christmas Cards for the Troops
Wewould like to thank everyone who donated, signed, or otherwiseparticipated in our Christmas Cards for Troops drive this year. TheErwin and East clubs contributed hundreds of signed cards that will besent to our troops overseas who will be serving our country away fromtheir homes and families this Christmas. This was an excellent way togive back to the community and express our gratitude and appreciate tothese amazing people who risk their lives for our freedom everyday.Hopefully we were also able to spread the Message and a little bit ofholiday cheer to people who may not have recieved it otherwise. Thanksagain for your support and participation, it was a huge success!!!
ERHS Monthly SYATP Events
Asmany of you may know, the ERHS YCI-CYC club has decided to host SYATPprayer events on a monthly basis this year. This was a request made bymany of our students and staff at East Rowan, and we had a fairlysuccessful event in October. We hope that support and attendance forand at SYATP will only increase as the year progresses, and all arewelcome as always, so we hope to see you at our November eventscheduled for the 19th at 7:00 a.m. around the ERHS flag pole!!!
Operation Christmas Child Our participationin Operation Christmas Child this year is well underway! Students arebeginning to bring in boxes and goodies to fill them, but there'salways a need for more! The East Rowan YCI club will be packing O.C.C.boxes on Thursday, November 12th after school during our regularmeeting time, so if you have not yet brought in items and would like tocontribute, please do so ASAP!!! The Erwin CYC clubhas already packed their boxes and completed a total of 34...way to goyou guys!!! They still are in need of some monetary donations in orderto ship the boxes, so any help there would be great! Thanks to those whohave already brought in their items and who are praying for thisproject and for the recipients of its products! Your participation isvery much appreciated! Club Reports *ERHS YCI-CYC The East RowanYCI-CYC club is having a great year so far! We have a steady attendancerecord and many regulars who join us each week for our prayer meetingsand afternoon meetings. Our intimate group and smaller numbers areallowing us to experience a great bond with one another, and we areeven becoming somewhat of a family as we serve as a support system forone another as well as prayer warriors for the club. We are continuingto meet every Thursday morning in Mrs. Teeter's room from 7:00-7:30 forprayer time and every Thursday afternoon in the commons area from2:30-3:15 for our regular meetings. All are welcome! *Erwin CYC-YCI The Erwin CYC-YCIclub is experiencing overwhelming success as always with a continuousattendance of over 100 members each week! WOW!!! The club meets everyThursday morning in the bandroom from 7:40-8:00, and all are welcome!!! ERHS YCI-CYC Youth Choir The East Rowan YCIclub has decided to start a Christian youth choir in order toexpand its ministry and use its members' talents to do so! WithPresident C.J. Riddle as its director, the choir has already begun topractice in order to prepare for performance opportunities such asChristmas caroling, our visit to Rowan Helping Ministries in February,and possible concerts. We practice on Mondays right after school forabout an hour in the chorus room or auditorium. All are welcome, and ifyou'd like to join us, we could definitely use your voice! *Note:This week the choir will be practicing on Friday in theauditorium right after school to make up for our missed practice thispast Monday. So sorry for the inconvenience, but we hope to see youthere! Moms In Touch 25th Anniversary Prayer Event Moms in TouchInternational is a prayer organization involving praying moms,grandmothers, aunts, etc. that collaborates with YCI. On Saturday,November 14th from 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., MITI will be having a 25thanniversary celebration and prayer event at St. Johns Lutheran Churchin Salisbury. MITI asks all praying moms, grandmothers, aunts, femalefriends, teachers, and church members to join them in prayer for ourchildren and schools. Prayer Requests *Asalways, please continue to be in prayer for our schools, students, andclubs and that we are successfully able to reach out to others with thelove and Gospel message of Jesus Christ. *Please be inprayer for the grandmother of C.J. Riddle who is experiencing somemedical complications and is currently undergoing laser eye surgeriesto correct these issues. *Please pray forthe father of Mrs. Lynne Robinson, librarian at Erwin Middle, whorecently had a stroke and has a severe blockage in his artery. They arein the process of deciding on a treatment plan, so remember him in yourthoughts. *Please continue to pray for the Brilliant family and little Riley as he continues on his road to recovery. *Please pray forthe children who will be recieving the Operation Christmas Child boxesthis year and that God uses those gifts to touch their hearts andchange their lives. *Always be in prayer for our troops overseas and that God showers his blessings upon them and their families. *Please pray about the upcoming Moms In Touch prayer event and the lives that it will touch. *Please feel freeto notify us of any and all prayer requests and praises, spoken andunspoken, so that we are able to lift up those situations to the Lord!
