Fairness

Daily Classroom Procedures:

1)      Enter the room in an orderly manner.

2)      Go straight to your desk without visiting at other desks/tables.

3)      As soon as you are seated, copy your warm-up from the overhead and begin working on completing the assignment.

4)      The class secretary should pass out any papers that are ready to be returned.

5)      If you need to sharpen your pencil, do so and be back in your seat before class begins.

6)      When the teacher closes the door, everyone should stop talking and be focused on the warm-up activity.

7)      After the first two weeks, 5 points will be deducted for papers without headings.  Papers without names will not be graded and 10 points will be deducted. You may find these papers on the “No Name” board, put your name on them, and submit them for grading.

8)      When leaving the classroom for ANY reason, you must have a pass.

9)      No eating, drinking or chewing gum in class.  No exceptions.

Bathroom and Locker Policy:

1)      Students will have 3 minutes in-between each class to go to their lockers and use the bathroom.

2)      Students will not be permitted to use the bathroom at other times except in cases of extreme emergency.  Students will be allowed 4 emergency passes each nine weeks. If students use more than the 4 passes, they will stay in during a “Working Lunch”. *NOTE: A total of 4 emergency passes will be allowed for math, science, LA, and SS COMBINED!!!

3)      Students will not be permitted to go to lockers times other than the above listed times – bring what you need with you to class!!!

“While You Were Out”

1)      If you are absent from school on the day an assignment is due or a test is taken, you are responsible for turning in that assignment and/or arranging a time to make-up your test.

2)      All late work will get a minimum of 7 points deducted. This only applies to absences when the student has failed to turn in their work within the three day time limit.

Self-Selected Reading and Nightly Reading

1)      Students are expected to have their self-selected reading book with them at all times in every class.  We will have SSR (self-selected reading) time in class; students with no book will see this reflected in their participation grade for the day.

2)      Students are expected to read 20 minutes nightly as part of their daily homework.  This will be checked by means of their reading log, book reports, and various writing assignments/projects.
