Handwriting has begun.  New letters - Cc, Ee, Ff. The handwriting practice that comes home will probably be the spelling words, vocabulary words and sentence. Remember to have the kids look and pay attention to the top, middle and bottom lines.

Math

We are taking our math test on Tuesday and beginning Chapter 4 this week. Chapter 4 is about data and graphs. It is a fun chapter.

Continue to practice the addition and subtraction facts at home. The children can use any manipulatives that they have at their disposal. They have also learned how to play 'Math War" with a deck of cards.

          Science

We are beginning our living things unit. The children will learn about living and nonliving things, but first we need to finish up studying pilgrims and indians. We learn new things and do some activities each month. When we finish the activity packet, they will be coming home. Look for them. They are great!

Social Studies

We have been learning about the pilgrims and indians for Thanksgiving. We made "I am thankful for . ." indian quilt patch out of constuction paper. They are hanging in the hall with the Book-it turkeys. This week we are learning about the relationship between the indians and pilgrims. They were friends and an indian named Samoset, helped the pilgrims learn how to live off of the land in America.
