CONCERT:  DECEMBER 15, 2009

7 PM in the Gym of CME

ALL Band Students will be performing on December 15 in our school's gymnasium.  The attendance to this concert is 25% of their final average for this 9-weeks.  Students will be wearing WHITE SHIRTS (ties for the boys) and DRESSY BLACK PANTS.  Because this is a special event we are asking that no tennis shoes be worn for the concert.  Students need to be in the gym at 6:30 to prepare for the 7 o'clock concert.  The concert will be over by 7:45.

PARENTS:  Please encourage your child to practice, it is their homework for band.  Practicing at home allows the musician to hear how they REALLY sound away from the band.  This helps the student prepare better for playing tests and allows the band to sound better because of their individual work!

6th Grade:  You should all be practicing your instruments with your book now!  There should be sounds from mouthpieces as well as real notes being played at home.  The CD that comes with the book is a great tool to encourage practice at home.  Please remember to turn in a practice record every Monday (total 75 mintues).  I will accept them late through Wednesday, but no later.

7th Grade:  You should be practicing scales as well as your book work.  The book allows us to review concepts from last year while learning new things in 7th grade as well.  We also have music for our December 15 concert to be practicing.

8th Grade:  You should be practicing out of your book (page 3, 4, and 6) as well as your scales.  We also have music for our December 15 concert to be practicing.
