October 10-11, 2011 All County Choir Concert 7PM Christianburg HS Auditorium. Bus returns EMHS 9PM
October 19. 2011 Concert Dress Inspection
Nov. 5, 2011 ALL STUDENTS: All District VI
Auditions: Forrest Middle School!
Leave EMHS 10:15--return around 5PM!
November 12, 2011 BARNES and NOBLES Library Day
Meet at school 2:15, Sing at Christiansburg B&N 3:30. Ci Ci's Pizza around 4:30. Depart and return home around 6:30. (Times may fluctuate slightly due to the nature of loading/ unloading etc. Ci Ci's costs $7.25--buffet & drink.
Students may ride home with parents, but ONLY if they have checked out with Mr. Presson first!!! This will be a fun performance! :)

Recognition, Awards, Students
arrive no later than 6PM.
ALL STUDENTS IN EVERY CONCERT SITUATION must check with the director before leaving. IN AWAY TRIPS parents and students must confirm (see Mr. Presson and check out with him) that students are leaving with parents!
Students are reminded to have all signature pages and materials in place!
PARENTS SHOULD POSSESS A 7 PAGE HANDBOOK!!! That is what the origional signature page was all about. If you did not sign a signature page, your young person is doing these required signatures without your knowledge!!!
Mr. Presson needs to speak TO parents WHEN they pick up their children--this is true for any bus travel event, or any concert where travel is necessary.
Mr. Presson needs to have an adult confirm that the student is leaving with an approved person. This is necessary for our responsibilities in protecting students.
ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE A PENCIL DAILY!!
Students need dividers for their notebooks.
Outfits for Performance
Performance wear. Students are to have clothing inspected for a grade, and in the cloting storage room Grades will be lowered daily for lack of uniform.
1) Deadline to have all clothing purchased and presentable: September 22, 2010
2) Ladies: YOU DO NOT have to purchase shoes through SMS. We can acquire shoes for you if you wish. Shoes are to be black with closed toe.
Skirts: Tea Length!
Blouses: Shirts are not blouses. 3/4 Sleeves (below elbow). Please have blouses with blouse collars. Please use Camisoles uderneath if the fabric is in any way less than opaque. Shirt tails must remain in place during singing and choreography. (purchase them long enough or use camisole).
Hose: not necessary for middle school.
MEN:
DRESS white shirt with collar suitable for tie.
BLACK neck tie.
BLACK dress slacks--Jean material is not suitable for performance!
Black dress shoes (NOT BOOTS!!!!)
Grades will reflect adequate attention to appropriate outfits for performance.
Thank you for your attention to these necessary details!
Materials:
Sharpened pencil
1.5 " x 10.5" BLACK ring binder. The Binder will not fit in the music library slots if they are any wider, or thicker than these. Dividers with 7 markable tabs, and notebook paper for recording notes
Music will be kept in alphabetical order
Theory notes and handouts will be graded
Music Calendar and Handbook pages will be periodically added and updated
Grades will be awarded as to:
1.Warm ups successfully performed.
2.Sol Fege successfully performed.
3.Pitches matched and performed.
4.All district and All County materials performed.
5.Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 vocal proficiencies attained and demontrated in performance.
6.Student contribution to the success of concerts and group rehearsals.
7.Concert attendance.
8.Concert attire in correct order.
9.Concert performance level.
10.All tests, quizzes and notebook checks satisfactory and averaged. (See class information for more detailed listing of grade precedures).
