Dear Parents and Students:

The school year is upon us already, so this is just a quick note to let you know what we are doing in TECH ED.

Presently Sixth-Graders and Eighth-Graders are learning how to make a folder with their name on it.  They are also using the Microsoft Office word processing program known as MS-Word.  Using MS-Word, students will learn how to format text and documents using a word processing program.  These skills will be especially helpful to them in their other classes when writing essays and reports.

Because this year's Seventh-Graders have already learned many of the MS-Office software applications when they were in Sixth-Grade last year, they will be reviewing what they learned about Word and PowerPoint for the next two weeks or so.  After reviewing these two programs, students will begin examining how to create spreadsheets and graphs using the program MS-Excel.

I will attempt keep you posted on a weekly or bi-weekly basis now that we are getting settled in here.  In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all.
