Reading Story of the week: Stone Fox (Chpt book)

Monday: (Set) Introduce story and have students predict what it will be about. Discuss author and illustrator and other background information. Ask students about their prior knowledge. Discuss the following subjects before, during and/or after reading the story: siblings, family rules and consequences, pets.  Read story as a group, looking for Vocabulary words:   .  Ask questions to help clarify word meanings. Have students look up the words in their glossary. (Closing) Tell me about the story we read today. What did you learn that you did not know?

*** All Week Activity: Choose one of the leveled books that go with our story. Read, answer questions in back, review with partner and AR test on book.

HW:  Read Story and Study Vocab words! 

Writing: Narrative: Write about a favorite relative other than your parent. Finish Paragraph #5 today.
