WELCOME TO THE KINDERGARTEN SCHOOLNOTES PAGE!                     

Dear Kindergarten Families,

We have been in Kindergarten for 36 exciting days! 

We will begin our 9th week of Kindergarten!  It is hard to believe we are almost at the end of the first quarter-OCT. 29TH!  I will be working on report cards for the next two weeks. Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on Friday, November 5th.  You will receive your child's first report card at this mandatory conference.  If you haven't done so, please send back your response sheet so that a conference can be scheduled.

Language Arts: We will complete Unit 5.  We will also begin blending sounds to decode words.  In the Friday Folder, I sent home a sheet of words to decode at home. Please practice these at home.  I will send a word list home for each unit.  We will be reading our first word this week!  Our Superkids coach will visit this week!  She will watch our lesson and assess our progress.

Math:  We will continue to work on our sorting unit and begin our candy corn math projects. The values of pennies and nickels will be continued this week, and throughout the rest of the year.  We will learn the Penny Song and the Nickel Song.  Another Zero Hero visit will take place on Thursday!  I wonder what he will be on Day 40???

Religion:  We will not be introducing a new unit this week.  We will begin Unit 3 next week.                                                                                         

Science/Social Studies:  We will conclude our dinosaur study.

Special Projects:   Our TLC Animal project will be a duck.   We will finish painting pumpkins for our Memory Book.  We will make our second Halloween Art Project!  We will read books by David Shannon and write a class book about one of our favorite characters, DAVID!!!

Friday, Oct. 29th-Halloween Party-Wear your costume and bring a treat for our classroom trick-or-treating.  We have 24 Kindergarten Kids.
