Week of October 12th

I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful fall weekend.

The days are going to get a bit chilly, please remember sweaters and light jackets.

Picture day for the students who were absent is Thursday, October 22nd.  Retakes will occur on Thursday, December 3rd

Friday is Theme-T Shirt Day, please remember Library books as well.

Please watch for Homework to come home every night in the green folder, it will be marked with HW and needs to be returned the next day.  I am looking for neat handwriting and coloring.   Thank you for sending in ideas you have worked on with the reading words.  The class has had fun seeing the creations!

  This week's Bible Verse is     October 6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart."  Proverbs 3:5.  October 13th- "I know the plans I have for you," declared the Lord.  Jeremiah 29:11.

October is Fire Prevention Month and we will be working on our Fire Safety Book as well as discovering all the special changes Fall brings .  This month all of our reading groups will begin a new reading book.  Keep working on the word lists, we are learning many new words.

Spelling Lists will be sent home the week of October 19th.
Spelling Homework will begin in early October. Please see schedule below for daily homework assignments.

Spelling Homework:

On weeks with fewer than 5 school days, the spelling homework will vary. The students will know what the homework is for each evening.

On weeks with 5 school days, the spelling HW will be as follows:


Monday - worksheet and begin to study the word list

Tuesday - Write sentences using at least 6 of 12 list words in the sentences. Circle

the spelling words within the sentence.

Wednesday - Write all 12 list words in ABC order.

Thursday - Practice for the test which will be on Friday.
