1.      Agenda and journal writing – Choose one or both of the following prompts:

a.      What makes you happy?  Describe a full day of happy things.

b.     Create at least five “blockbuster” names for movies based on well-known fairy tales.  The names should suggest what the films are about while grabbing the audiences’ attention.

2.     Intro to Vocabulary Lesson 5, “It’s Just a Matter of Time”

3.     Go over “Review and Assess” questions pp. 719-720 in PH LIT if necessary

4.     Additional activities for “The Sidewalk Racer” and the haiku and limerick poems, pp. 721-722. 

*Write answers in complete sentences!

HW:  Complete vocab packet (pp. 26-27) and pp. 721-722 in lit book if necessary.  Study for spelling test over “It’s Just a Matter of Time” vocabulary words.

4.     Go over pp. 721-722 in PH LIT

5.     “How to Appreciate Poetry” video

HW:  Vocabulary sentences – Write one well-developed sentence for each of the 15 “It’s Just a Matter of Time” vocabulary words.  Remember to use vivid description and action words!  Study vocabulary terms and definitions.

Next week:  We will write some limericks, have a vocabulary test (Thurs., Feb. 26th), and continue with poetry!
