Victoria Higdon September 2010 READY FOR NEXT YEAR?????Next time you are at the Dollar Store, keep supplies in mind :) Our school will give each student an agenda to use every day in their classes, however, if they perchance to loose this valuable tool for correspondence with family & keeping organized with schoolwork, they may use a calendar agenda that you can usually find at the Dollar Store. 6th/7th Social Studies, Study Skills- BINDER- any color, 1"-1 1/2" (old, new, used- doesn't matter) You want to see their classwork, notes- this is where it is kept & where the test info comes from!!! NO TRAPPER KEEPERS! - looseleaf paper (wide ruled) to be kept in binder - colored pencils (used for maps, graphs, etc.) - scissors that cut - only pencils used for classwork - highlighters ***** Study Skills students will need a separate binder, red ink pen, and 2 spiral notebooks, CHEAP! 6th-World Unit: Ancient Southwest Asia
Fertile Crescent: -geography/climate (map skills) -where civilization began city-states and trade
Mesopotamia: -civilizations of Sumer and Akkad -cuneiform writing, wheel -Sargon/established world's 1st empire
Babylonia and Assyria: -Code of Hammarabi (punishment fits the crime) -growth of Babylonia under Nebuchadnezzar II -time-line of Mesopotamia
