A Note from the Director:  

My name is Michelle Sullivan. I earned my Bachelor of Music from Appalachian State University and will complete my Master's from ASU this fall.  I am in my fourth year of teaching at North Wilkes High School and I love teaching choral music!  I love creating rich harmonies, diving into the meaning of texts, and watching students' faces as they realize how the two work together.  Magic moments happen everytime students "get it," no matter the level they sing.  Choral programs depend heavily on participation, so please feel welcome to start participating!  This goes for parents as well; volunteers are always welcome and greatly appreciated!  Students at North have the opportunity to get involved with chorus at any level, be it beginner to advanced. 

CURRENTLY: Time for our first concert already!  The HS All-County Concert is Tuesday, October 6; 7:30pm for audience (7:00pm for students), at the JAWCC!  All students need to wear their uniforms (3rd period women: all black, men: black dress pants, white button up dress shirt/tux shirt, black bow tie) to the concerts.  All classes have been working so hard on their music and I know they will love their clinicians.  It will be a great concert, as always, so make sure you don't miss it!!!

Please be sure to check the Calendar for up-coming performances by all or specific choral groups.  The calendar also gives information you may need!  Please note that our first performance is October 6 with prior rehearsals outside of school!!!

UNIFORMS:

Students have been measured and have tried on shirts for sizing purposes.  FEMALE students will order a uniform top through the school, but are responsible for finding the following: black skirt that is knee-length or longer, black dress shoes.  The cost for FEMALE students is $27.  MALE students will order a tux shirt, black bow tie and cummerbund through the school but are responsible for finding the following: black dress pants, black socks, black dress shoes.  The cost for MALE students is $22.  By no means do you need to purchase the most expensive of these items, they can even be borrowed for concerts if you know of anyone that has them. 

The uniforms have been ordered, please bring your payments as soon as possible!  Uniforms should be here by the end of the month and students will be wearing them at the All-County Concert on October 6.

PARENT INFORMATION LETTER:

Every student will have a parent letter containing important information about the class on the first day of school.  This letter will include my classroom policies, conctact info, what we will be doing during the semester, concert dates, rehearsal dates outside of class and such.  Please make sure you get this letter from your child so you will be as informed as they are!  However, if you do not receive the letter, dates and information can be found on this website.
