![]() WelcomeTo Mrs. Pardue's Class! Home of the 5th Grade MATH MANIACS!
I am SO excited to have another way to keep parents updated about what's going on in Math Class!
Open House is Friday, August 21st PLEASE plan on attending Open House this coming Friday. I will be in my room and ready at 5:30 p.m. Mrs. Hemric has asked for all parents to be in classrooms by 6:00 p.m. At 6:20 p.m. Mrs. Hemric will broadcast LIVE on In-House TV. Please note that I am not in the same room this year, Ms. Simpson and I have switched rooms and I'm eager for parents and students to see the new walls of their classroom! I look forward to seeing all you again! I trust everyone had a great summer and is looking forward to the beginning of a NEW year! ATTENTION PARENTS This year, I am happy to announce that I am a 5th grade homeroom teacher! I look forward to a productive year working alongside Mrs. Long. Because the majority of my homeroom students were with me last year, I am confident that we will have another SUPER year!
4th Grade Notes and Reminders I'd like to take this chance to welcome the 4th graders to their new building. Come to school prepared to LOVE math and everything about it!
5th Grade Notes and Reminders Fifth graders, It's your second year with me and all of you know what I expect. Let's make it a great start to a new year. Please make sure you help the 4th graders feel right at home in their new classrooms.
The beginning of the year is always so exciting and stressful too! Students, please make sure you go to bed EARLY the day before schools starts so you can be FRESH for your first day back. RC Books and RC Tests Each of you in my homeroom know the drill with Reading Counts. Even though we're MATH MANIACS, we also are very serious about Reading Counts! As a class, we will decide appropriate reards for meeting RC goals. A Little Information For Parents * Math homework will be given to students on a regular basis. However, I never give over 10 math problems per night. In addition, I do not give homework over the weekend. I believe that if a student can work 10 math problems successfully, they can work 25 just as easily. In addition, I do not assign homework over the weekend. I want to relax during the weekend and I expect my students to do the same. Homework will only be given over the weekend if it cannot be helped. * Please know that I do send home Math tests after they are graded. I expect a parent signature before it comes back to school. This is very important because I want to share with parents how their child is performing in math class.
Do Your Parents Know about Ron Clark?¿? Do you remember our Ron Clark rules? Are you practicing your manners all the time...not just at school? Are you showing your parents as much respect as you are showing me? KIDDO'S...please remember that what Ron Clark's The Essential 55 teaches us is oh so very important. I want you ALWAYS to remember that his very simple practices will take you a very long way in life. I encourage each and every one of you to be a SHINNING STAR...ALWAYS AIMING ABOVE AND BEYOND! With a lot of hard work and dedication and a little Ron Clark along the way, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
A Note For Parents Please remember that you can call me anytime if you have questions about your child's progress in math class. I am confident that through a lot of hard work and dedication that your child will be SUCCESSFUL in math this school year! I'm a firm believer that it takes a village to raise a child. Please work with me and help me in sharing my LOVE for MATH! We are a team and I am on board 100% to help your child in any way possible.
