It is absolutely amazing that the first quarter of school is already over! I guess it is because there is so much to teach and so much to learn! I have no doubt that November will prove to be a very busy month also. In Math we will continue to work on Place Value and Rounding Numbers, as well as practicing subtraction across zeros and multi-digit addition and subtraction. For writing class we will focus on editing stories to add details and make the stories even better! In Reading we have been reading the Novel, "James and the Giant Peach" and we will be doing activities to enhance what we read. The students have enjoyed adding a short chapter book to the regular weekly stories. And in Science we will begin a new unit on "Soil". I think we will find out who likes earth worms and who does not. But, it will be an interesting unit! |
