To My 1st Graders and Parents at ICS,

It was wonderful meeting all of you Wednesday.  It was such a pleasure spending this week with your children and getting to know them.  I can already see that we will have a terrific year.  I am so excited about what the future holds for our class.

First Grade Parents are the BEST!!  All emergency cards and supply money came back the very next day!  Thanks a bunch!

Folders will begin to come home on a regular basis.  Please have your child bring his/her backpack to school so homework and notices home are not lost.

Homework will also begin on Monday.  Once we have our full routine in place, I will attach a schedule in each student's homework folder.  We will have homework Monday through Thursday. 

Reading Folders will be sent home late September or early October.  I would like your child to read every night to someone in your family.  I will attach a calendar in the Reading Folder for you to sign once your child has read each evening.  Reading will be the only homework expected on the weekends and holidays as well.  It is very important to keep up with reading skills.  I appreciate your help with this.  I will have more information on reading material at our back to school night on Monday, September 22.

REMINDER - Full Day Sessions begin Monday, September 8, 2008.  Your children will need to bring lunch starting Monday.  Once we get the schedule for School Lunch, I will notify you.
