Plan to be better today, but don't ever plan to be finished' Carol Ann Tomlinson

Parents- I will use this page to inform you of important information such as class projects, homework assignments, conferences, and any other concerns or issues this year.We have obtain our passports and we are on our way to explore a world of learning and success. Below, you will find out what we are learning and doing in each subject.

What Are We Learning?

Reading-We have started a new Theme in our Reading books. It is titled, "Give It All You Got." The students will be involved with  activities that will allow them to work on the following Reading Strategies: predicting, inferring, and monitoring their comprehension. We will also focus on the genre of the stories that we read each week. At the end of the theme, each student will pick a genre to do a genre project on.

Grammar/Writing- We are working on writing and speaking in complete sentences on a daily basis. We are reviewing for our grammar test on sentences. We are currently working on Narrative writing and writing across the curriculum.

Grammar lesson- Writing and creating compound sentences.

Writing Prompt:  In writing, we are continuing to learn about the writing process and narrative writing. Since we are reading stories about giving it your all, many of our writing prompts will work with our reading selections. As we are writing, we will follow the writing process.

Writing Prompt: Think about a time that you tried something new. Write a story about your experience.

Math- We are working on division and the divisibility rules. It is very important that your child learn his/her multiplication facts.
