Welcome to Mr. Sutton's

Computer Technology Web Page

The computer technology curriculum is designed so that all work is completed in school. Generally, there are no homework assignments. However, occasionally students will be asked to write a story or research information at home to help them complete their projects in school. Those assignments will be posted on a project page. I will also list the current projects for each grade so that you know what your child is working on.

I am at school Monday through Thursday. I encourage students who need extra help or who are falling behind in a project to come to the Computer Media Center between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM any of those days.

Please feel free to Email me from this web site if you have any questions or need to speak to me.  I will get back to you ASAP.

Lower Grades

Pre K and Kindergarten: Students are being introduced to the computer. They practice using the keyboard and mouse. They use age appropriate software and visit age appropriate web sites, to type words and numbers, draw shapes, follow mazes, copy and paste pictures, and play educational games.

Grades 1 and 2:  Students practice keyboarding skills using "Type to Learn IV." They are also being introduced to Microsoft Office using "Scholastic Keys," a software suite designed specifically for the early grades.

Grade 3: Students are continuing to practice their keyboarding skills as well as learning how to create PowerPoint presentations. They are preparing PowerPoint presentations about themselves, which they will be presenting to their parents later in the school year.

Grade 4: Students are learning about the network. They are receiving more advanced instruction in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
