Physical Education Class

Welcome to the 2010-2011 School Year!

In the Physical Education classes, we will cover a variety of sports and games in class, including basketball, volleyball, soccer, kickball, baseball and many more. We will focus on learning and following the rules of the games, displaying good sportsmanship at all times and having fun.

Each grade level for Health will have their own page on School Notes which will contain information for those classes.

All students must wear the appropriate gym uniforms (OLMA gym t-shirt, blue shorts, white socks that cover their ankle bones, and low top, white sneakers (with a little of black or blue on them is fine).  If a child is not dressed properly for gym they will not be allowed to participate in class activities.  Middle School students must wear their regular school uniform on days which we attend mass, BUT must also bring their gym uniforms to change into after church. 

I do not believe in grading students solely on their athletic performance because not all of us are blessed with the same skill level. Therefore, grades will be based on the following:

Participation in activities

Comprehension of the rules, displaying of good sportsmanship

Prepared for class (this means wearing the proper uniform for gym)
