Reading/Phonics The students have reading 5 days a week and phonics 4 days a week. Reading assessments are given every Friday during a typical week. After 5 lessons, the students have a unit test on the skills they learned during that unit. This website has information only for my reading group. Please consult your child's reading teacher's page for their work and other information. ![]() Reminder: This page is only for students in my reading/phonics group. All homework must be signed by a parent/guardian. Students may not go ahead in the homework as it pertains to the day's lesson. Week of February 6 We will finish up Unit 3 with the the theme "on the farm."We will discuss what farm life is like. We will be working with cause and effect as we read Click, Clack, Moo. Cows That Type. The students might already be familiar with this tale, along with others in the series such as Giggle, Giggle, Quack. We will continue to study blends and compound words. We will be working with a thesaurus this week, and using a calendar to answer questions. The unit test will be the week of February 13. Date to be confirmed. *** Please make sure your child is answering the assigned questions on Tuesdays. I assign the questions based on the skills that need reinforcement in written comprehension.
