Little Angels News ! Week of February 6 Catholic Schools' Week wasenjoyed by all students. They did a great job at the poetry festival onMonday and leading the school in prayer on Thursday. It was nice to seeso many of you visit the school during visitation days. Thursday is our 100th day of school. Their100th day boxes are due on Wednesday so that we are all ready to go onThursday with our activities. Students may bring in Valentine cards to exchange on Valentine's Day. In math we will continue to work with moneyas we introduce the dollar. Regrouping in addition and subtraction willcontinue to be reinforced. Students must keep practicing their additionand subtraction facts to master the skills. Some of the homework sheetsthat will be assigned for math homework will be reinforcing their basicmath skills. If your child is receiving Communion at OLM andthey have received the workbook from Mrs. Ballanco, they can show it tome when it is either all completed or in the process of completion. Iam not sure if she has handed them out yet, but I would like to see thechildren's progress as they prepare for this sacrament. Starting this week, the students will write their spelling words one time in cursive and two times in print. This is the only work that is completed in cursive at this point until I assess their progress. In language arts we will continue to reviewverbs in past tense -- doubling the final consonant for verbs with ashort vowel sound, drop the silent e before adding an ending andwriting -ed for past tense. We will be analyzing analogies with an"analogy of the day" during morning routine. In science we are completing the chapter onhabitats. A test on chapter 4 is scheduled for Feb. 15. I will let youknow when I officially update the flashcards on my assignment page. In social studies we will continue to workwith geography and map skills. We will also move on in our books toUnit 3 and compare communities of the past with communities of today. No weekly folders for this week.
Thank you for your help and co-operation ! Miss Gordon :)
